SUMMARY:NRA Instructor Course: Patrol Rifle Instructor 
DESCRIPTION:This school centers on the patrol rifle for officers using iron sights or optics (which must be removed for zeroing exercises). The classroom portion informs students how to teach basic fundamentals of rifle marksmanship and handling\, how to zero iron-sighted rifles\, and discusses zeroing policy and liability concerns. Range work quickly moves from basic marksmanship to tactical movement\, use of cover\, various firing positions\, pivots and turns\, use of the safety circle concept\, reloading under stress\, firing on the move\, multiple threats\, decision-making\, and reduced light threat identification and firing. Students design a tactical course of fire and are responsible for developing a lesson plan and running fellow students through their course at the end of the week. (Officers attending this class are expected to be capable of firing 6-inch groups with a rifle at 50 yards from the prone\, sitting\, kneeling and standing positions\, and possess the ability to make accurate rifle sight adjustments\, field strip\, reassemble\, load and unload their respective rifles\, prior to arrival. THIS is not a basic operator school.) In addition to the equipment mentioned above\, the following are ALSO necessary for this school: \n\nDuty-type\, law enforcement patrol rifle (rifle or pistol caliber is acceptable) equipped with a sling\nAt least three rifle magazines with a capacity of 20 rounds or more\n1\,200 rounds of duty or training rifle ammunition\n100 rounds of duty or training handgun ammunition\nShooting mat or waterproof ground cover for prone zeroing exercises

DESCRIPTION:ASA 3-D ARCHERY\nASA 3-D archery features competitive rounds of lifelike\, three-dimensional animal targets made of foam. \nThe scoring rings are not always visible from the shooting stake and binoculars are allowed. Advanced archers must determine the distance to the target\, pick a good aiming point\, and execute the shot. The ASA was the first archery organization to implement a speed limit (280 feet per second) for safety and to establish a level playing field for 3-D competition. Beginning in 2007\, the ASA was the first national organization to incorporate Known Distance 3-D which provides competitors with another option\, as well as providing a more accessible starting point for new competitors.

Each event is a one days shoot equaling a total of 100 targets for score for each event. DESCRIPTION:The John C. Garand Match or GSMMM is the CMP’s most popular CMP Games event held! The course of fire is 15 shots slow-fire prone (first 5 shots are sighters); 10 shots rapid-fire prone; 10 shots slow fire standing. All shot from 200 yards. \nThe Springfield is a M1903 Springfiled. The Vintage Military Rifle “as-issued” U.S. Krag or M1917 rifles or manually operated foreign military rifles. The Modern Military rifles fire semi-automatic military type rifles of U.S.\, or foreign manufactures that comply with CMP Games Rules. This match is intended for standard production or as-issued rifles with no special accurizing or match conditioning.

DESCRIPTION:The CMP invites you to participate in its NSCA Registered Target Sporting Clay Shoots. These events are open to the public; new or inexperienced individuals are welcome. Each event is a one days shoot equaling a total of 100 targets for score for each event. If you enjoy shooting Sporting Clay\, this is your chance to step up and shoot a fun Tournament. \nCost is $55 and registration is available online at Score Chaser. Participants may also register the day of the match at the Club House. All competitors will be required to have a valid Range Safety Card for the CMP Talladega Marksmanship Park. Golf carts are available for rent or you can bring your own.
