SUMMARY:NRA Law Enforcement - Handgun/Instructor Course
DESCRIPTION:This school compresses the handgun instructor school to 3 days and adds 2 days of shotgun instructor training. Student classroom presentations\, concealed-carry training\, and unconventional shooting positions are replaced with shotgun marksmanship and handling classroom presentations and range work. Shotgun drills include firing from cover\, use of kneeling and prone positions\, moving targets\, malfunction clearing\, firing on the move\, and transitioning to the handgun. In addition to the above mentioned required equipment\, the following is ALSO necessary for this school: \n\nDuty-type\, law enforcement 12-gauge pump or semi-auto police shotgun equipped with a sling.\n900 rounds of duty or training handgun ammunition.\n50 rounds of duty or training 12 gauge slugs.\n20 rounds of duty or training 12-gauge 00 buckshot.\n100 rounds of birdshot (#6\, #7½\, #8 or #9).\n\nA backup handgun is NOT required for this school. The shotgun and buckshot must be capable of shooting a group no larger than 18 inches at 15 yards in order to pass the course. Rifled shotgun barrels are inappropriate for this school and are not allowed.

DESCRIPTION:First Time CMP Shooters are required to attend CMP orientation at the Clubhouse.  \n \nRegistration at Range 5 at 8:30 am CST. Safety Briefing is at 9:00 am CST \nTriggers at 9:30 am CST. \nWe will be shooting six stages. Pistol estimate: min 115 rounds. 230 to be safe. Please preregister for the match on PractiScore (If you “think” you might be joining us). You may also use the self squadding function in PractiScore. If you don’t preregister\, we certainly still want you to join us. Search for the match with “CMP”. It will be something like: TPS USPSA at CMP. This will be a USPSA match (Follow the USPSA link for additional information). If you still need additional information on our sport\, let me know. You are not required to be a member of USPSA to shoot the match. Who can come: EVERYONE. Match Fees: $25. What do I need to shoot an USPSA match? Eye and Ear Protection (safety glasses and ear muffs or ear plugs). USPSA divisions encompass 9mm\, .38 cal\, .40 cal and .45 cal. You will need a holster and at least 3 magazines and a mag pouch. Occasionally\, some stages may involve as many as 32 rounds. They usually vary from 8-12 on the low end and 26-32 on the high end. This is a cold Range. No loaded firearms unless under direct supervision of a Range Officer.
